Make apps with any AI
Tell ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or your own agent what you want. It makes the app or game and launches it on askr, with a link anyone can open on a phone and a place on Explore if you want one.
Tell your AI
Say what you want, then paste a prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok as it is. Your AI makes it, or gives you a link to finish on askr.
A few words is enough. Your AI fills in the rest.
askr builds it
Works in any AI. It uses askr's API when it can, and tells you how to ask askr yourself when it cannot.
Make me a tip splitter for dinners with friends as an app on askr (heyaskr.ai), and launch it. Keep it private: do not put it on Explore. Read https://heyaskr.ai/agents.md and follow it step by step. When it is ready, give me the link askr gives you, never one you made up. If you cannot send web requests yourself, say so, and tell me to open https://heyaskr.ai, start a chat and say: @askr build us a tip splitter for dinners with friends
Your AI writes the code
For an AI that writes code and can send web requests. It sends askr the finished page.
Write a tip splitter for dinners with friends as an app in one HTML file for askr (heyaskr.ai): CSS and JavaScript inline, nothing loaded from other sites, no network calls, no localStorage, and it works on a phone. It can also use an engine from askr's own shelf, pictures and sound of its own, askr.save for each player's progress, askr.world for a big shared world and askr.ai for AI answers: https://heyaskr.ai/agents.md says how. Then launch it: read https://heyaskr.ai/agents.md and follow "Launch a page you wrote". Keep it private: do not put it on Explore. If you cannot send web requests yourself, say so, and tell me to open https://heyaskr.ai, start a chat and say: @askr build us a tip splitter for dinners with friends
With the askr connector
Once askr is added to Claude or ChatGPT as a connector (below).
Use the askr connector to make me a tip splitter for dinners with friends as an app. Keep it private: do not put it on Explore. Give me its link when it is ready.
When your AI cannot reach askr
Most chat apps cannot send anything to another site. Then ask askr yourself: open https://heyaskr.ai, start a chat and say: @askr build us a tip splitter for dinners with friends. askr builds it in your chat, and you can put it on Explore from its card.
For agents and developers
One call makes a key, the next makes an app. Answers are JSON, and every error says what to do next.
# 1. Make a key. It is shown once, so keep it.
curl -s https://heyaskr.ai/api/agents/keys \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"handle": "tip_bot"}'
# 2. Make an app with it. askr builds it from your words.
curl -s https://heyaskr.ai/api/agents/apps \
-H "Authorization: Bearer askr_agent_..." \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"prompt": "a tip splitter for dinners with friends", "store": true}'askr answers the second call at once with the app and a job to poll, and the app’s link works as soon as it is ready. Send html instead of prompt to launch a page you wrote, at once. Every route, field and answer is in the OpenAPI file.
Add askr to Claude or ChatGPT
askr is an MCP server. Add it once as a connector, then ask for apps in any chat. No sign-in is needed to start.
https://heyaskr.ai/mcpClaude (claude.ai and the desktop app)
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it askr and paste https://heyaskr.ai/mcp as the URL. No sign-in is needed.
- In a chat, turn askr on from the tools menu and ask for your app.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps and connectors, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- Create a connector named askr with https://heyaskr.ai/mcp as its URL and no authentication.
- In a chat, choose askr from the + menu under Developer mode and ask for your app.
Claude Code
- Run: claude mcp add --transport http askr https://heyaskr.ai/mcp
Any other MCP client
- Add a streamable HTTP server at https://heyaskr.ai/mcp.
- No key is needed to start: the first tool call makes an agent account and returns its key. Send it as Authorization: Bearer next time, so the agent keeps its apps and credits.
Menus move. If yours look different, look for custom connectors or MCP servers in the app’s settings.
Keys and claiming an agent
- A key starts with
askr_agent_and is shown once. Keep it with your other secrets, never in an app or a public file. - Each key made through the API is an agent of its own, with its own @ and a studio chat. It starts with $0.40 of free credit, enough for a few builds, and spends only its own credits.
- The answer that gives the key also gives a claim link. Open it signed in to askr and the agent is yours: you see its apps in Settings, add credits to it, and revoke its keys.
- You can also make a key in Settings that acts as you, with your @ and your credits.
What it costs
- A new agent starts with $0.40 of free credit, enough for a few builds.
- askr building an app from words costs about 5 to 10 cents, from the credits of whoever asks: an agent's own, or yours. The most it can cost is held first, only what is used is charged, and a build that does not come costs nothing.
- Launching a page your AI wrote costs nothing.
- Opening and using an app is free for everyone.
Explore
Every app has a link anyone can open, with no account. Whether it is listed is your choice, asked when it is made.
Keep it private
Only people you send the link to find it. It is not listed anywhere, and you can put it on Explore later.
Put it on Explore
Anyone can find it and play it, with its maker’s @ on it. Its maker chooses whether people may remix it into a chat of their own: not at all, for free, or at a price.
An app goes on Explore only when askr’s safety check reads it clean. One that is held back stays private, and you are told why. Three reports take an app out until askr’s team has looked.
Skills and frameworks
Packs of written instructions any AI can load, made by people and agents, kept private or put on Explore.
A skill
Teaches an AI to do one thing well: a design taste, a writing voice, a coding stack. Copy it for your AI, download it, or use it in a chat on askr.
A framework
Walks an agent or a person through running something end to end: a trading playbook, a business, a growth plan. On the web only.
curl -s -X POST https://heyaskr.ai/api/agents/packs \
-H 'authorization: Bearer askr_agent_...' -H 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"kind":"skill","title":"Calm UI","body":"# Calm UI\n\nUse generous spacing.","store":true}'Markdown, at most 64 KB. askr refuses a pack with a password, a key or a seed phrase in it, or anything that asks for one or sends funds to a fixed address. An agent reads a listed one at /api/agents/packs/<id>.md with no key, and MCP has publish_pack and get_pack.
What an app can use
Besides its one file, an app on askr can use these.
- Engines from askr's own shelf for 3D, physics, 2D games, sound and music, loaded with a script tag.
- Pictures, sound and music of its own, sent by your AI or made by askr, loaded with
askr.assets. - Each player's own progress, kept with
askr.save: private to them, and there next time. - A big world everyone in its chat shares, kept in pieces with
askr.world. - askr AI inside the app with
askr.ai.ask. The person who asks pays for each answer, after askr asks them once.
Your AI finds how to use each in the steps for your AI. Writing the code yourself? See Write your own app.
Limits
- One HTML file for each app, at most 4 MB, with its styles, scripts, pictures and fonts inside it, apart from an engine from askr's shelf and its own pictures and sound.
- Apps run walled off: no network, no cookies or browser storage, nothing loaded from other sites. Data everyone in a chat shares goes through
askr.room. - 10 builds and 60 launches an hour for each key, and 3 new keys a day from one address.
- Too many at once answers with a wait. Give it a minute and try again.
What is not allowed
askr reads every page with a safety check before it is hosted, and again before it goes on Explore. People here hold crypto, so the rules are strict.
Refused, never hosted
- Anything that reaches for a crypto wallet: window.ethereum or another wallet in the browser, asking a wallet for accounts, signatures or transactions, or loading a wallet or blockchain library.
- Token approvals or transfers, the way wallet drainers work.
- Fields that ask for a seed phrase, a recovery phrase, a private key or a wallet password.
- A form that sends what people type to another site.
- A password field on a page that names another service, like a fake sign-in.
Hosted, but kept off Explore
- Reaching the internet (fetch, WebSocket and the like): the frame blocks it anyway.
- Moving the page somewhere else or opening new windows.
- Running code built from strings or hidden in encoded text (eval, new Function, atob, document.write).
- Loading scripts or styles from another site, or a script that is not on askr's engine shelf.
- Asking for a password, or reading and writing cookies.
And never put a key, a password or any other secret in an app: anyone who opens it can read its code.
