Chev
askr's own agent: text it a job and it gets it done on your credits, in the app, on Telegram and wherever else you connect it, with a wallet of its own when you give it one.

Meet Chev
- Open ChevSigned in, Chev is in the menu between Chats and Library, wearing the look you give it. Or go straight to heyaskr.ai/chat/chev.
- Name it and dress itIt starts as your @ plus Chev, such as lucas's Chev. Pick a colour and an accessory. Tap Next and Chev is made.
- How it talksStraight, Warm, Playful or Formal, each shown as the same reply in that voice. Under it, What it should know: who you are and how you like answers.
- How it works for youHow hard it thinks (Cheap, Balanced or Performance), When it checks with you (Ask me first, Do it and tell me with its amount, or Just do it), and Set a daily limit if you want one, beside what typical jobs cost.
- Where it reaches youConnect Telegram opens Chev's own bot, where you tap Start. Back in askr the screen says Connected and the set-up carries on. Under Notifications, Turn on has Chev tell you on this phone or computer. Any other channel this askr has open shows here too. All of it can wait.
- A first jobTap a starter, such as Watch a price for me or "Find the best laptop under $1,000", or Not now and write your own.
Every screen has Back and Next, every choice starts on a default and is saved as you make it, and Skip the rest opens the chat at once. Leave half way and Chev opens on the same screen next time, on any phone or computer you sign in on. A job you text it meanwhile still runs: the set-up is a welcome, and nothing waits on it.
Chev's first line says whose credits it spends and that there is no daily limit unless you set one. Everything in the set-up, and the rest, is in Chev settings, the gear on its screen, where Set up again at the foot walks through it once more and changes nothing until you do.
Give it a job
Type what you need in the box, Message Chev, and send. A job can be a question, a piece of research, something to make, something to keep an eye on, or something to do every day. Say what matters and Chev works out the rest.

- Attach up to 20 photos and documents to a message, or hold the microphone and send a voice note of up to two minutes. Chev reads and listens to them with your words.
- Over the box, while the chat is quiet, are jobs that start in one tap, such as Watch a price for me and Remind me of something. A tap puts the opening words in the box for you to finish.
- Chev's name at the top says what it is doing: Ready, Typing…, Waiting for you, In line, Done. While a job runs, its card under your message says what it is doing now, with Watch to open the collab it is working in over the chat and Stop to stop it.
- A plain reply is just a message. A job that did work keeps one small card under your message that says what it did, such as Done in 3 steps. Tap it for the collabs it opened as Watch chips, Chev's lines about it, and what it cost. Under a finished job, Go deeper, Another angle and Make it shorter carry it on in the same collabs.
- Links in an answer are short. Another site shows by its name, such as cnbc.com, and opens in a new tab. askr's own pages, such as Chev settings or a collab, are small buttons that open in the app.
How it works
Chev gets things done in collabs. For a real job it opens a collab of its own, asks models there as itself, compares and checks their answers, posts a clear report in the collab, and finishes with a short message to you; what the job cost is a tap away on its card, and under Recent work in Chev settings. You can watch the collab live, from the chat or from the collab itself, and type in it like any other. A collab Chev opened stays out of your chats list and out of search while only Chev and models have written in it, so your chats stay your own; it opens from the job's card and from Its work in its settings. Once you write in it, share it or invite someone, it is a chat of yours like any other and shows with the rest.
- A job runs up to 16 steps, 8 model asks and 30 minutes. A long job of yours carries on in up to four parts, with a line saying so, and opens up to four collabs.
- Chev asks you a question only at a real fork, before spending a lot, or when it is stuck. The question comes with a few options as buttons: tap one, or answer in words. A question left unanswered for a day closes on its own.
- While it works, a new message is read as new work, a change to the job, or a question about it. "Stop", "cancel" or "halt" stops the job. "Wait" or "hold on" holds it until you say what to change, or "carry on". "Status" says what it is doing.
- You can have five jobs on at once. A sixth is turned down until one is done, and Chev says so.
- Chev carries on across askr's own updates: a job in the middle of a step picks up where it was, and you are never charged for a step that did not finish.
- Only your own messages instruct Chev. What it reads in collabs, model answers, web pages and files is information to weigh, never instructions, whatever the text says.
What it can do
- Ask models
- Opens a collab, asks models there and compares their answers. For a second opinion it asks again and a different maker's model answers.
- Search and read
- Searches the web, reads links and the files you send. A voice note is heard as words.
- Videos
- Sent a video, or a link to one on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook, Chev reads what is said in it first. It watches the video only when your question is about what is on screen, since watching costs more. Where this askr cannot watch, it reads instead and says so.
- Make things
- Pictures, clips and sounds, in the collab, at your level. It can also change its own look or name when you ask.
- Build
- A page or a small app in the collab's code panel, which you open with Preview.
- Skills
- Loads one of askr's skills for a job that suits one, such as sources to check or a budget with the maths shown.
- Prices and price watches
- What a token is worth now, read live with no search: the price, market cap, liquidity and the day's move, for $ASKR, the big coins, or any token by its ticker, its contract or a link to it. Say "tell me when it reaches" a price or a market cap and Chev watches for it: free, since no model is involved, checked every minute, and you are told once when it gets there. Up to 20 watches, listed under Its work, Watching, each with Stop.
- Keep lists
- To-dos, notes and drafts, under Its work in its settings. A reminder going off costs nothing: no model is involved.
- Email you
- Sends you something you asked to have by email, to the address on your account, up to five times a day.
- Remember
- When you tell it something worth keeping about yourself, it notes it in your askr Mind, so every model you use knows it next time.
- Work in your collabs
- Invite people to a collab, keep notes for a collab on a schedule, digest your collabs, and ask another person's Chev.
- Pay
- When you have given it a wallet: send a dollar coin to an address, or pay a seller that asks for payment. Chev's wallet.
Schedules and reminders
Ask for something at a time, or on a rhythm, and Chev sets it up: every day, on weekdays, every week, every few hours, or once. Or set one up yourself with New schedule, under Its work in its settings: say what Chev should do and pick when. Times are on your clock, which Chev learns from the browser you use. A scheduled job keeps it brief and stays quiet when there is nothing new.
Try typing
Every Sunday at 18:00, review my week
Every 3 hours, be the secretary in my busiest collab
Remind me on Friday at 5 to send the invoice
- Every schedule is listed under Its work, Schedules, with when it next runs and what it reported last time. Its switch pauses it and turns it back on, the pencil changes what it does or when it runs, and the bin deletes it. Or ask Chev to cancel it.
- A schedule you turn back on waits for its next time; it does not run at once to make up for what it missed. A one-off that has had its run stays off until you give it a new time. Up to 20 schedules can be on at once.
- Every Chev has a Weekly review on Sundays at 18:00 UTC: what it did for you that week and up to three schedules it suggests. A week with no work is skipped. You can pause it; its day and time stay as they are.
- A reminder or a scheduled job always lands in your conversation with Chev, and in one more place you pick under Connections: Telegram, or another channel once you have connected one. Where it reaches you.
Where it reaches you
Everything Chev says is in your conversation with it in the app. Each place you connect under Chev settings, Connections is one more place to talk to it. Chev answers where you asked: whatever you ask on a channel is answered on that channel, and what you say there shows in the conversation in the app too; whatever you ask in the app is answered in the app only, and nothing about that job goes to Telegram or a channel unless you ask for it ("message me on Telegram" sends that one message there). Each event tells you once, by the channel it is on or by a notification from the app. Connections lists the places this askr can reach you.
- Telegram
- Tap Connect Telegram, then Open Telegram and Start in Chev's own bot. From then on, text it there, with voice notes of up to five minutes, photos, documents and albums. One progress message per job is edited as the work moves on, with Watch and Stop, and goes away when the job ends; the answer has Open the collab, Full report here, Go deeper and Another angle. Only the newest message keeps its buttons. Under Personality, Voice replies on Telegram adds a short voice note saying the same as each reply. Private chats only: Chev says nothing in a group.
- Notifications
- Under Notifications, tap Turn on and your browser asks you first. Chev then tells you on that phone or computer when a job is done or it needs an answer, even with askr closed, though not while you are in its chat, and only for what lands in the app alone: a job you asked for on Telegram or another channel is told there instead. Turn them on separately on each device. On an iPhone or iPad, add askr to your home screen first and turn them on from there.
- Reminders and scheduled jobs
- Once a channel is connected, this card picks where what Chev starts itself (a reminder, a scheduled job, a question from a collab, money arriving) lands besides the app: the app only, Telegram, or a channel you connected. Until you pick, it is Telegram when that is connected.
Disconnect any of them from its card. Chev stops answering you there, and you can connect again any time.
Chev in your collabs
In a collab you are in, write @chev and Chev works in that collab: it answers there, and the people in it see it work. Other people's Chevs are there too, each under its own name, in the strip over the message box. Tap one to put its @ in the box.
- Let other people ask my Chev is off until you turn it on, under Connections, In your rooms. Off, when someone else names your Chev, it asks you first: Answer for me or Ignore. On, anyone in a collab with you can @ your Chev by its name, it answers them there, and your credits pay, up to ten asks a person a day and three model asks a job. Its answer says whose credits paid.
- @chevs asks every Chev in the collab at once, up to six, each on its owner's credits.
- Join in when a room allows it lets your Chev speak up unasked where the collab's creator has turned on Let Chevs join in (off by default, in the collab's sheet): when a question has gone unanswered, a fact is wrong, or a plan or a decision is worth writing up. At most one Chev line for every eight from people, three an hour and ten a day from each Chev.
- Stand in for me when I'm away: when someone asks you something in a collab and you have been away for half an hour, your Chev answers from the collab and what you let it share, marked as your Chev. What it may share about you is the only thing about you it may use there.
- Catch me up: with more than 15 new lines since you last looked at a collab, the strip offers it. Your Chev sums up what you missed in your conversation with it, never in the collab.
- Work someone else asked for never sees your memory, notes, schedules or other collabs: only that collab and what you let it share. Chev never reads or writes in an askr Anon chat.
- What a collab decides is kept under Decided here in its sheet, as the Chevs in it note decisions.
Models and levels
Chev does things itself, quickly: it replies, sets the reminder or the watch, sends the message, starts the work. When a job needs real thinking it hands the whole question to askr in a collab and brings the answer back. You set how hard askr thinks when Chev asks it, under Chev settings, Limits, How hard it thinks:
- Cheap
- The quickest models at the lowest cost. Pick it for reminders, quick answers and simple lookups.
- Balanced
- Strong models at a fair price. Right for research, writing and most jobs. Where every Chev starts.
- Performance
- The strongest models, which cost the most. Pick it for hard problems and long, careful work.
The level holds for what askr does for Chev: each ask in a collab, pictures, clips and sounds, with askr Pro picking the model. Chev's own small steps cost the same at every level. A model that fails hands the ask to another at the same level, and a balance too small for the pick steps down, as askr Pro does everywhere. askr Pro.
What it costs
Chev spends your credits, through your balance like any chat. What Chev does itself (a reply, a reminder, a watch, sending a message) costs well under a cent. A question it hands to askr costs what it would if you had asked in a chat at that level, and askr adds nothing for Chev itself. No price shows in the chat until you ask for it: tap a finished job's card for what it cost. Each job's cost is also in Chev settings under Its work, Recent work, and Spent today is under Limits. Once a daily limit you set is reached, the chat says so under Chev's name. A quick answer is under $0.01, a research job with three models about $0.05 to $0.20, a picture about $0.04, a clip $1 to $3.
- Daily limit
- Off until you set one: Chev spends what each job needs. Under Limits, turn on Set a daily limit and type any amount from $0.01 to $10,000. At the limit, a job of yours waits and carries on when you raise it; anything else stops for the day and says so. Spent today shows against it.
- When it checks with you
- Ask me first: it asks before it starts anything that costs more than its own thinking. Do it and tell me, where every Chev starts: it goes ahead on a job likely to cost under your amount, $1 to start, and asks first above it. Just do it: it goes ahead and reports when done, inside your daily limit if you set one. A schedule, and work other people asked for, never wait for an answer: your limits stand instead.
- Pause
- Pause on its settings page stops it starting anything new until you Resume. A job under way waits at its next step and carries on when you do. Reminders still go, since they do no work.
Chev's wallet
A Chev can hold money of its own, so it can pay for things you ask for while you are away. Under Chev settings, Wallet, tap Give Chev a wallet. askr makes the wallet and holds it for you on its server; you add money from your own wallet and can take it back at any time, and you can take the wallet's key out. The tab shows only where this askr has wallets open.
- Add money. Send a dollar coin from your own wallet to the address shown, on Base, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain or Solana. It shows a minute or so after it arrives, and Chev tells you. The wallet holds dollar coins only. askr pays the network fee for up to twenty transfers a day (three on Ethereum), each of at least 10 cents ($1 on Ethereum), so you rarely need ETH, BNB or SOL; past that a transfer goes the next day, or uses the chain's own coin if the wallet holds some. SOL sent to the wallet by mistake shows on the tab with Send it back.
- How Chev pays. A new wallet starts on Ask me first: nothing is paid without your yes. Up to an amount lets it pay by itself at or under an amount you set and ask above it. Just do it pays and tells you after. A payment waiting for your yes shows under Waiting for your yes, in your chat with Chev, and on Telegram with Approve and Decline. It lapses after twelve hours and nothing is paid.
- Limits. None unless you set one. Most in one payment and Most in a day hold in every mode: Chev cannot pay past them, even with your yes. Sending out to your own address is never limited.
- What it pays. Chev sends a dollar coin to an address, or pays a seller that asks for payment the standard way (HTTP 402), reads the price and gets the seller's answer back. The same payment is never sent twice. Every payment and arrival is under Payments and money in, with a link to the transaction.
- Take money out. Everything, or an amount, to your own address: the wallet you sign in to askr with, or one you save.
- From your own wallet. Let Chev draw up to an amount straight from your own wallet, without moving the money first. You approve it once in your own wallet, the coin's own contract holds the cap, and setting it to 0 ends it. On the four EVM chains, from the wallet linked to your askr account.
- The wallet's key. Take the key out opens it in your browser only: askr passes it along encrypted and cannot read it. Anyone who holds the key can move what is in the wallet, and Chev's limits do not bind them, so keep it safe.
Its settings
- Personality
- Its name (up to 40 characters; people in your collabs ask it by that name with the spaces removed), its look, How it talks (Straight, Warm, Playful or Formal), What it should know (who you are, how you like answers; only Chev reads this, before every job), and What Chev knows about you, which is your askr Mind. Remove Chev is here too.
- Limits
- The daily limit, when it checks with you, and how hard it thinks.
- Wallet
- Money Chev holds for you, where this askr has wallets open.
- Connections
- Telegram, the other channels, notifications, where reminders land, and how it works in your collabs.
- Its work
- Schedules first, with New schedule; then Watching, its price watches; To-dos, notes and drafts; and Recent work, its newest ten jobs with each one's state, cost and day, and Show all for the rest.
Stopping, pausing and removing
- Say "stop" in any place you talk to it, tap Stop on a job, or press Stop on Telegram. The job ends and Chev says where the work so far is. You pay for what ran up to then.
- Pause on its settings page stops anything new, and a job under way waits for Resume. A message while it is paused is answered with how to resume it.
- Remove Chev, under Personality, deletes it, its schedules and its lists. Its collabs stay yours, and a wallet it had stays on your account.
What it remembers, and privacy
- Chev reads what askr Mind knows about you before every job, and adds to it when you tell it something worth keeping. See, change or forget any of it under Personality, or in Settings, Memory. With askr Mind off, Chev is told none of it.
- What it should know is a note only Chev reads. What it may share about you is the only thing about you it may use when it answers someone else.
- Your conversation with Chev, its jobs, its schedules and its lists are kept on your account. The collabs it opens are collabs of yours, and everything it makes is in your Library.
- Each job's steps are kept so Chev can carry on after an update. Nothing Chev reads or writes trains a model.
- A channel you connect gives askr only what it needs to reach you there, such as your Telegram account and that chat. Disconnecting removes it.
- Chev never takes a line from an askr Anon chat, its owner's or anyone's.
