Attach photos, PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, voice notes and video: what each can be, and how askr reads it.

Attach a file
- Tap +On the left of the box.
- Tap Add a photo or fileUnder askr Pro your phone's or computer's own file picker opens straight away. With a model you chose yourself, you first see which kinds of file it can take, and the ones it cannot are greyed out with the reason.
- Pick one or moreEach shows above the box with its progress. Tap its x to take it off.
- Ask about it and sendSay what you want from it: a summary, an answer, the numbers that matter.
On a computer you can also drop files onto the chat. Anywhere, you can paste a picture or a file into the box.

How askr reads a file
- Under askr Pro, askr picks a model that can take what you attached.
- A model that cannot open a file itself is given its words instead: the text of a PDF or a document, or a written copy of what a voice note says. So a document works with every model.
- Pictures and video need a model that can see or watch them, and askr Pro chooses one. A scan with no text in it needs one that can see too.
- Ask about a file again later and askr sends it again with your newest messages. A file from much earlier in the chat is not sent every time, so you do not pay for it on every answer: attach it again to bring it back.
- More than six pictures, or more than one video, on one message go with it and with your next message, then askr stops sending them. Attach the ones you still need again.
Ask about a file
To be sure a file is read and answered in words, and a photo is never turned into a new picture, load Ask about a file: tap +, Load a skill, then Ask about a file. Your files open; pick one and ask.
Change a picture instead
Attach a photo and say what to change ("make the sky stormy", "put this logo on a mug") and askr makes a new picture from yours. Pictures, clips and songs.
Your files
- Every file you have attached is under Uploads in your Library, where you can open, download or delete it.
- Deleting a chat deletes the files in it.
- A file you attached but never sent is cleared after seven days.
- A file in a chat you share with other people belongs to that chat, and everyone in it can open it.
- Nobody at askr looks at your files, and nothing in them trains a model.
