Your look and voice

Friends can put you in pictures and sticker packs only with your say-so: you choose who may use your look, chat by chat, you are told every time, and you can delete anything made with you.

On this page

Set up your look

  1. Open itIn Settings, Account, find Your look and voice and tap Open beside Friends in the picture. You need an @, and a guest cannot set one up.
  2. Add photosUnder Your look, add up to four photos of your face. Each is drawn again in your browser before it is sent, and askr removes where and when it was taken, and on what, before keeping it.
  3. Choose who may use itIn each chat's sheet, under Friends in the picture. Chat by chat.

The same page has Pets and characters: add your pet, or a character you made up, with photos of their own, up to six. They are named as your @, a slash and their name, such as @maya/biscuit, and the same choices apply to each.

The page also has a part for clips and a part for your voice. Each says so on the page while it is not switched on.

Who may use it, chat by chat

Open a chat's sheet and find Friends in the picture. Under Your look in this chat, pick one.

Only me
Where every chat starts. Nobody else can use your look there.
Everyone here
Everyone in that chat, including anyone who joins later. In a public chat that is anyone who joins.
People I pick
Only the people you picked, up to 50.
  • It takes effect at once, and taking it back stops the very next picture.
  • The choice is read at the moment a picture is made, never before.
  • If you leave a chat, your look cannot be used there while you are out. Who may use them, on the page, lists every chat you chose something for, each with Take back.

Putting a friend in a picture

Name them in a picture prompt, with their @. Their photos go to the picture model with that one request.

Try typing

  • @askr image: @maya as an astronaut
  • @askr image: @maya and @maya/biscuit on the moon
  • The chat's sheet lists Who you can put in pictures here. Up to four people fit in one picture.
  • If someone has not let you use their look there, the picture is made from your words alone, and askr tells you so privately.
  • It needs a picture model that can work from photos. If the one in use cannot, askr tells you privately and nobody's look goes with it.
  • It works for a picture you ask for yourself, in a chat. Not in askr Anon, and not in askr Community.
  • A picture with a friend in it costs what any picture costs there.

Told every time

When someone puts you, your pet or your character in a picture, you get a line in that chat that only you can see. It says who made it and how many, and links to everything made with you.

Everything made with you, and deleting it

  • Everything made with you, on the page, lists every picture made with your look, your pets or your characters, with who asked and where, also in a chat you have left.
  • Delete any of them and it goes for everyone: the chat's message stops showing it.
  • Delete a photo, your look, a pet or a character at any time. The photos go at once and nobody can use them again.
  • As you delete a look, a switch lets you delete everything that was made with it too.

Friend sticker packs

In a chat's sheet, under Friends in the picture, Sticker pack makes eight stickers of the people who let you use their look there, up to four of them, drawn as cartoon stickers.

  • Pick Quick or Better. The price is on the button before anything is made.
  • The pack lands in the chat as one message of eight pictures, and everyone in it is told.
  • Download it for WhatsApp, iMessage or Telegram, each in the size that app wants.
  • A sticker someone in it deleted is left out of every later download.

Talking cards

In a chat's sheet, under Friends in the picture, the photo of a pet or a character you may use says your words, up to 15 seconds: a birthday card, read in one of askr's voices. Tap See the price first. It is charged for the card's real length, never more than the price shown, and whoever is in it is told.
