Videos together
The chat is the studio: videos from one tap, a reel of everything the chat made, one timeline everyone edits, a story told ten seconds at a time, a film from many friends for someone's day, and a weekly episode of the chat.

Make a video
Make a video opens eight formats. Each is a recipe: its words, its shape and its length are askr's, and you add the names. The price line says the price, the length, the shape and the model, and the button says Make it with the price.
| Format | Shape and length |
|---|---|
| Birthday shout-out | Tall, 10 seconds |
| Us as a 90s sitcom intro | Wide, 10 seconds, from a picture |
| Movie trailer | Wide, 10 seconds |
| Meme dance | Tall, 5 seconds, from a picture |
| Holiday card | Tall, 10 seconds |
| Animate this group photo | The picture's own shape, 5 seconds, from a picture |
| Music video | Tall, 10 seconds |
| Superhero intro | Wide, 10 seconds |
- Three formats need a picture to start from, and the others can take one. Use a picture askr made in the chat. Where none is needed and none is given, askr makes the people up. It can also animate a real photo: one shared in the chat, or one you add there and then, which goes into the chat so everyone sees what was animated. A real photo needs a tick first: Everyone in this photo is in this chat and happy to be in the video.
- A model makes the nearest length it can, and the price line says which.
- The holiday card leads the list when one of its occasions is in season.
- A recipe's clip is an ordinary clip of the chat: it lands there for everyone, with Prompt used showing everything the recipe asked for.
- Only the person who asked for a clip can run it again.
- These are offered where the chat's rules allow Clips.
The room reel and the shared Studio
Studio opens Media studio on the chat's one timeline. Anyone in the chat arranges it, it is kept on askr's side, and everyone's editor follows each change as it is saved.
- Room reel fills an empty timeline with the chat's clips and pictures as one tall film, oldest first, with the chat's newest song under it. Putting it together is free. If the timeline already holds something, askr asks before it replaces it for everyone.
- A new song for the reel is made in the chat, priced first: a quick song in the mood you pick. Or a song made to the reel's own length, up to a minute, at a higher price.
- Two people saving at once never lose work silently: the second is told, and shown the first one's version.
- A file you add from your device goes into the chat's media first, so it can be on everyone's timeline.
- Make it move turns a picture on the timeline into a five second clip that takes its place. A new scene makes five seconds from words at the end of the timeline. Each says its price and its model first.
- This chat's look, in Media studio, is for the person who started the chat: Warm film, Black and white, Neon night, Watercolour, Claymation, Anime, 90s home video or Golden hour. Every picture and clip made in the chat then takes it, the timeline is graded with it, and the chat is told when it changes.
Send it, with a way back in
A clip's More menu has Send to TikTok, Stories, WhatsApp, and a finished reel can be sent the same way.
- For TikTok and Stories a clip is made tall, and cut at a minute for Stories. WhatsApp and Telegram take it as it is.
- The caption brings people back: the chat's link, the clip's own page when someone published it, or the page where anyone makes their own. You can edit it.
- On a phone the file and the caption go to the phone's own share sheet. On a computer the file downloads, the caption is copied, and WhatsApp's, Telegram's or TikTok's own page opens.
Story relay
Tell a story together, ten seconds at a time. Whoever starts it writes the premise. The opening shot can start from a photo. Each friend then adds the next shot in words, and it starts from the last frame of the shot before.
- Nobody takes two turns in a row, unless fifteen minutes have passed or they are alone in the chat.
- Each turn is priced first, on its button.
- Start a vote has askr write three ideas for what happens next and paint a still of each. The chat votes in a poll, for 2 minutes to an hour, and the winner becomes the next shot. If nobody votes, no scene is made, and only the ideas and the stills were paid for.
- Finish: watch the whole story joins every shot into one film, free.
The occasion kit
One film from many friends for someone's day: a birthday, a wedding, a leaving do, an anniversary, a graduation, get well, thank you, a new baby, a retirement or a holiday.
- Start the kitPick the occasion, who it is for and the day, then tap Share the link.
- Friends add to itAt the link, with no account: A line, A voice note, A clip or A photo. Each friend sees what they added and can take it back. A kit takes up to 60 things, five from each person.
- Make the filmaskr adds up to four scenes of its own and a song, made to the film's length if you like, priced first, and joins everything with a title card.
- It is sent on the dayAt nine in the morning on your clock, the film lands in the chat with how many friends made it. Send it now sends it sooner.
- With Surprise on, the person it is for, if they are in the chat, sees nothing of the kit or its film until it is sent.
- The kit's card has a link where the film can be watched with no account.
- The film's scenes and song are paid from the organiser's own balance, never the chat's credit, so a surprise never shows on the chat's bill. A guest cannot start a kit.
The weekly episode
Episode opens This week in the room: a short show of the chat's last seven days, hosted by Lily and Roger, two of askr's ready-made voices.
- Every week
- The person who started the chat turns on A weekly episode and picks its Day, its Length, one, two or three minutes, and Never more than, from $1 to $30. Everyone in the chat is told.
- Quality
- Cheapest, where it starts, or Best: the video model that makes the scenes, and the price that follows. Better sits between them.
- The offer
- On its day, from nine in the morning UTC, askr offers the week's episode in the chat with its price. Nothing is made until someone taps Say yes. An offer nobody takes lapses after two days, at no cost.
- Make one now
- Makes an episode of the last seven days at any time, at the price on its button.
- A quiet week
- A week with fewer than eight messages from people makes no episode and costs nothing.
- The price says the most the episode can cost, and it is never more than the chat's cap. Everything it needs is set aside when someone says yes, so it never stops halfway for want of credit, and each part is charged at what it cost.
- The script comes first. askr writes the show scene by scene and shows it to the chat, with how each person appears, before anything is made.
- Leave me out. Everyone the script names is told privately and can tap Leave me out: every scene with them, or about them, goes. The episode is made when the review ends, after ten minutes, or sooner once everyone named has answered.
- Leave me out of every episode here, under You in the same sheet, keeps your messages out of every script in that chat.
- Who appears. Someone appears as themselves only where they let the person who said yes use their look in that chat. Everyone else is a made-up character, the same one all episode. Your look and voice.
- Where it lands. The finished episode goes into the chat's shared Studio as a timeline, the hosts' voices laid under the scenes, for everyone to watch, change and send. If someone is already working on the timeline, Put it in Media studio asks before it takes its place.
- The script never reads a private message, anything someone deleted, another chat, or the messages of someone who left.
- A guest cannot say yes to an episode.
What it costs
- Every clip, song and vote says its price before it runs. An episode says the most it can cost.
- Whoever asks pays, as for an @askr message: from the chat's credit, or from their own balance in a chat of their own and where each person pays for their own. Who pays.
- Where the chat's credit pays, a clip above the chat's limit asks first, and friends can chip in. The price check.
- Free: the reel and its export, Finish, arranging the timeline, the look, and sending.
